GSM based Automatic Anti Theft Alarm and Alert System Using Arduino

Blogs

Introduction

Theft and unauthorized access to battery-powered or solar systems can lead to significant losses and disruptions. To address this issue, we’ve developed an innovative solution using Arduino that incorporates SMS and call notification alerts to deter theft and provide real-time monitoring. In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the process of building an anti-theft battery or solar system using Arduino.

Components Used

1. Arduino Board Acts as the main controller for the system, responsible for monitoring sensors and triggering alerts.

2. SIM800L GSM Module Enables the Arduino to send SMS messages and make phone calls for notification alerts.

3. PIR Motion Sensor Detects movement and unauthorized access to the system.

4. Voltage Sensor Monitors the voltage levels of the battery or solar system.

5. Buzzer Provides audible alerts in addition to SMS and call notifications.

6. Optional: Solar Charge Controller If using a solar system, a charge controller can be integrated to monitor solar panel output and battery charging.

System Operation

1. Initialization Upon power-up, the system initializes and calibrates sensors.

2. Monitoring The PIR motion sensor continuously monitors for any movement or unauthorized access to the system.

3. Voltage Monitoring The voltage sensor periodically measures the battery or solar system voltage levels.

4. Alert Triggering If unauthorized access is detected or if voltage levels drop below a predefined threshold, the Arduino triggers the GSM module to send SMS alerts and make phone calls to predefined numbers.

5. Buzzer Activation Simultaneously, the buzzer is activated to provide audible alerts at the location of the system.

Installation and Setup

1. Hardware Installation Connect the components according to the provided wiring diagram.

2. Software Configuration Upload the Arduino sketch provided in the blog post to the Arduino board.

3. SIM Card Insertion Insert a SIM card into the SIM800L GSM module and configure it with the necessary settings.

4. Testing Test the system to ensure proper functionality and adjust settings as necessary.

Benefits

Conclusion

In conclusion, the anti-theft battery or solar system with SMS and call notification alerts offers an effective and affordable solution to enhance security and peace of mind. By leveraging the power of Arduino and GSM technology, users can protect their valuable assets and receive real-time alerts in the event of unauthorized access or system malfunctions.
